  • Q: Do I need previous backcountry experience?

A: When venturing out to the Kees & Claire Hut, you don't require previous experience, but you do need to be a advanced-expert skiing/riding. For objectives such as the Spearhead Traverse you should have a fair amount of experience.

Q: What does me fitness need to be?

A: Fitness level should be moderate to high, and be able to hike for a few hours.

Q: What kinda of layers should I pack?

A: Regular, breathable ski layers. Merino wool is great option as it's light weight, breathable and odour resistant. Suggest more thinner layers over one thick layer. Remember ounces = pounds, pounds = pain.

Q: What if there is poor weather forecasted?

A: This is the beauty of having a guide. They can provide the safest experience all while finding the best snow. The Kee's & Claire Hut has a variety of options if weather is poor. Whereas for the Spearhead traverse and the AlpX Yurt weather plays a bigger role. We will be in discussions leading up to the trip if we need to reschedule due to weather. There are no fees/charges if changes are made due to weather.

    Q: Can I organize a winter camping trip not in a Hut/yurt?

A: Absolutely. We can organize any overnight adventure. If you desire to winter camp, we ask that you do have previous experience.
