Ross Dunlop

There’s no mistaking Ross Dunlop’s presence on snow—calm, composed, and confidently carving lines in places most wouldn’t think to look. Originally from Scotland, Ross has called Whistler home for nearly two decades, and he brings a deep understanding of both terrain and technique to every day on the mountain. A CASI Level 4 snowboard instructor and former elite snowboardcross coach, Ross has worked with athletes at the pinnacle of the sport—coaching at multiple World Cups, two World Championships, and even the Winter Olympics. But don’t let the résumé fool you—Ross is as approachable as he is accomplished.

He joined Extremely Canadian in 2021, specializing in adventurous in-bounds boarding. His coaching style blends experience with spontaneity, favouring untracked stashes, playful lines, and making the most of whatever the day brings. Whether you’re charging steeps or seeking flow in fresh terrain, Ross knows exactly where to go—and how to get you there.

Ask Ross about his idea of a perfect day and he'll tell you: good snow, good crew, and no fixed plan. Just the right mindset to unlock Whistler’s endless possibilities.

We’re lucky to have Ross on the team—he’s one of those rare guides who makes expert-level coaching feel effortless and every run feel like the right one.
